Since childhood, I have been deeply influenced by my father, a talented photographer, who taught me to see the world through a unique lens. Every time he adjusted his lenses, I saw how light and shadows revealed the hidden beauty of nature. He guided me to notice the small details — a ray of sunlight between leaves, the sparkle in an animal's eyes. These moments awakened in me a visceral desire to capture the world, but instead of photography, I chose colors and textures as my means of expression.
In the seventies, it was my husband who surprised my artistic heart, gifting me my first canvases, brushes, and paints. That gesture was a turning point. Instead of relying on theories, I decided that practice would be my path. I dived headfirst into the creative process, and this journey continues to this day, always observing, always striving for improvement.
The connection with nature has always been the soul of my work. Brazilian fauna and flora, with the majesty of the jaguar and the splendor of macaws, invade my canvases, almost as an extension of myself. Additionally, the indigenous peoples of Brazil are also a great source of inspiration for me. Their cultures, colors, and deep relationship with nature are elements I try to capture and honor in my works. The tropical forests, with their explosions of colors and life, inspire me to translate this harmony between the human and the natural in a nearly visceral way.
My travels have also been moments of deep artistic transformation. In Lisbon, I was touched by the soft light that bathes the city. In Switzerland, the serenity of the snow-covered mountains led me to explore textures and depths I had never touched before. And Barcelona, with its vibrant colors and pulsating life, left an indelible mark on me. Now, living in Finland, I find a new form of peace in the dense forests and tranquil lakes. The nature here inspires me in an introspective, deeper way, almost as if it were speaking to my soul.
Beyond painting, I explored other artistic paths, such as clay sculpture, Baroque painting, and patina, which allowed me to express my love for form and texture in different ways. These experiences enriched my creative process, allowing me to explore new dimensions of my relationship with the world.
My art is not just a reflection of nature, but also of the people and experiences that have shaped my life. Every brushstroke tells a story, and through my works, I invite the world to walk with me on this journey of beauty, discovery, and emotion.
